Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej (now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast in history to be awarded a perfect score of 10 points in an Olympic event. Comaneci was spotted by Bela Karolyi who was later her Romanian gymnastics coach when she was only six years old. The first time she competed at the national junior championships of 1969, finishing 13th. She won the competition in 1970. In her 1972 first international event in a preolympics junior competition that was open to countries of the communist bloc, she was awarded three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1975, she won awarded the All-around Junior Champion. Her debut as a Senior in 1975, she beat Russian Lyudmila Turkishcheva. The five-time European champion who won four gold medals and one silver. In 1976, she was the winner of the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games and became the first woman to ever dismount parallel bars using backwards double salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her journey in the entertainment industry began during her teens when she began skating figure along with her twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around that were known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on the 6th day of September, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Carol started her career in the entertainment business in her teens. She began her professional career by performing figure skating along with Nina Wayne, her younger sister in one of the touring entertainment programs Ice Capades. These shows included ice skating performances that were performed to music from the stage.
