Emily VanCamp

Emily Irene VanCamp, a Canadian actor and actress, is well-known for her role as the lead in a variety of television shows as well as for her strong performances in movies. The actress is well-known on Canadian and American TV. Emily's passion for acting started at the age of 12 when, she went to visit her sister Katie who was shooting one of Katie's movies. Once she discovered her passion for acting she started taking classes in acting and going to auditions. After some commercials, which were successful, she was soon cast in the Canadian children's horror television show Are You scared of Dark? The show only featured her in only one scene and without dialog. She got her first big breakthrough at fifteen when she was spotted as a regular in Glory Days, a WB series Glory Days. Although the show was canceled after only nine episodes, her performance was noticed by Dawson's Creek writer Greg Berlanti who cast her in his TV show Everwood. Additionally, a dancer and photographer, Emily was once listed as a Teen to be one of their most popular actors under twenty. In Maxim's Hot 100 2014 list ranked her as number 51.
